What more can a 5 year old dream of, but a Nutcracker/Sugar Plum Fairy birthday party. We even had a real ballerina come and give a lesson and a performance for the girls. Their faces were mesmorized! I had way too much fun preparing for this party, and Ella thanked me many times. She had a great time!
This blog was created with love by Damon and Molly. Since many of our friends and family are out of state, we want to make sure you are able to share in the joy as Ella is born and grows up. Now we have added Reese Mckenna since she arrived on 11/10/10 and Harper Lily 12/4/12. Thanks for visiting, we hope you will subscribe to the feeds so that you will always know when a new post has been created.

Christmas Tree
We love Wreath Works, a little family run tree farm in Port Orchard. The girls had fun, although were a bit cold. But it ended with cookies and cocoa, so they seemed to perk right up!
Christmas Fun
The day after Thanksgiving, we kicked out the Christmas season by heading to downtown Seattle and joining all the yuppy Black Friday shoppers for some hustle and bustle. Really, we just enjoyed the non-shopping aspect of it all. So much fun!

Disneyland
There is far too much to write about how great our trip to Disneyland and Newport Beach was. It was just amazing!

Reese's No More Chemo Celebration
I love the Mary Bridge HemOnc clinic!!! We came for Reese's checkup today, and on her room it said "No More Chemo". Reese skipped around the clinic the whole time singing "No more chemo". It was sweet. Then Reese got to pick a hat for her and her Dr, and everyone sang a song to her. It was very special. Reese received a certificate for completing her chemo, and a framed picture of her and Dr Irwin (who she now refers to as her friend who she loves).
It was a special day and I had several conversations thanking the staff for being so great. Our next appt is in a month, I can't describe how that feels. We've gone every week for 24 weeks. It's such a relief to know she is finished. And yet bittersweet. The patient in the room next door was an infant. Yet again my heart was ripped out and ached for that baby and his/her parents.
Thank you Mary Bridge, and particularly Dr Irwin and all the WONDERFUL nurses who have loved us so much! You've have played a huge role in our life this year, and in Harper's whole life so far.

CureSearch Walk
What a fun morning we had in Seattle. All our friends and family made this such a special event for us by donating and walking with us to support Reese and all children affected by cancer. Thank you to all for raising $3485. Team Reese's Pieces came in 2nd place for overall money raised. Awesome! Although she wouldn't say her name on the microphone, she was so excited to receive her medal for being a child on treatment, and when she got the plaque for 2nd place in money raised. Go Reese!
Reese gets her medal for being on treatment right now. |
